Hutchins is squeezed between the I-45 logistics corridor and the Trinity River bottomland, and it takes pest pressure from both. On the warehouse side, Norway rats and mice live off loading docks, dumpster pads, and pallet storage, then move into nearby homes, garages, and outbuildings. Trapping plus sealing the entry points is what actually holds.
On the river side, the bottomland, sloughs, ditches, and every low spot that holds a downpour give mosquitoes a productive season from spring into fall, with West Nile a standing concern in Dallas County. Cutting the standing water on the property matters more than most people expect, since most of the mosquitoes biting you were born nearby.
The rest is familiar southern Dallas County: subterranean termites in cracked slabs on shifting clay, fire ant mounds after rain, big American roaches up from the drains in the heat, widows and bark scorpions along the foundation. An experienced local exterminator handles all of it.
